There is a condo building in Tacoma for everyone's taste and budget. There are large apartment-style buildings which provide annonymity and offer an array of amenities, and there are small, intimate developments where you would know everyone. Before the crash of 2008 there was a spate of new condo development along the waterfront and in downtown. Below is an overview of the options that are available and some of the features associated with each building.
This is a "big city" style condo building with 6 floors, and 93 units. It features a spacious lobby, an on site building manager, a theatre, exercise room and weight room, large communal rec-room/kitchen/party space. It features multiple outside patios with BBQs. It offers a common garage under the building and storage for each unit on the mezzanine level. It is a well-built, well managed building and is located up the hill from downtown and the Unviersity of Washington campus.
This European style concrete and steel building with a brick facade is built around a courtyard. It features a small exercise room, a common garage under the building. It is located close to antique row and the theatre district.
This is a gorgeous old building gutted and converted into 18 condos in 2006. It is on the historic register. There are 6 stories in the building. The first floor units feature 17' ceilings, the 2nd and 3rd floor units feature 15' ceilings and the 4-6th floor units feature 10' ceilings. The units on the 3rd floor feature the stunning palladium windows. Some units have separate garages, some units share the garage with The Robison at 708. Common features include secured lobby entrance, small exercise room and roof top deck with BBQ.
This five story building features 15 industrial-chic, loft-style condos with original terrazzo floors. It features a common secured entrance and elevator, and there is common sunroom/deck.This building is located opposite City Hall, close to the theatre district and antique row. Not all units offer parking or storage.
The first of the new condos built before the crash of 2008. It is a 5-story building with retail on the ground level and 4-stories of apartments below the 5-floor which is where the 46 condos are found. Many people in Tacoma couldn't believe that there would be buyers for condos in this location, and few believed that Tacoma was ready for downtown condo life. The building was almost sold out within months of the units being offered and before they were completed. Theas Landing was the leader of the downtown condo boom. This building is in the "Museum District". It is close to the Glass Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and the History Museum. It overlooks a small harbor on the East and I5 is to the West. It features a common garage, an exercise room, and common rec-room, secured entrance and an elevator which features private access to 5th floor condo owners.
The original developers got caught by the 2008 crash and lost their shirts! The building was sold for approximately 50 cents on the dollar and subsequently all 162 units have been sold, and some resold. A well-built steel and concrete building overlooking Foss Landing Marina common features include parking under the building, exercise room and common rec-room. This is a pet friendly building and residents enjoy the convenience of being able to walk their pets along the marina.

Tacoma is home to many fine turn of the century beauties that opitomize the splendor of the era and showcase the superior craftsmanship of the time. History buffs will enjoy browsing through this section which will take you back to the early part of the 20 century, when indoor plumbing was a luxury and Tacoma was just beginning to be electrified. The picture to the left is the former Weyerhaeuser Mansion, which for many years was home to the Domincan Nuns, then the North West Baptist Seminary. It was sold this year and is now in the hands of a local couple and a local Waldorf school.
Sonia is unparalleled in her abilities, professionalism, and experience in the Puget Sound. Incredible and hard working, Sonia will help you find the house you want and dedicate all her efforts to get it. As first time home buyers she walked us through the entire process, provided her sage advice and artfully worked with the seller's agent until our offer was accepted. Wonderful experience and we encourage anyone looking for a home to seek our Sonia Grunberg! - Christina
Oh My Goodness, Where do I began?!?!?! Sonia is just Brilliant, Amazing and Wonderful and SO Professional and SO Caring! She had Us for a client and was Always perfect and dealt with us on such a compassionate professional level. That is saying alot.. I know Us :)
MY Husband has Anxieties and at times that is NOT easy to deal with, and to top it off, we had issues with Our Buyers/Buyer loan and the other Agents were not well knowledgeable in how to deal with all of the issues that kept popping up, some issues were very serious and It may cause all 3 families to lose the homes that we all wanted to buy.
To top that off, my husbands anxieties went through the roof.
Sonia handle everything with such ease and grace and so professional and I truly can not Thank Her enough for being our agent!!!
The home owners of the house we bought were so Impress with Sonia, that they asked me for her business card, They wanted to tell some of her friends that Sonia is the agent to have. If that right there does not impress you, I do not know what would? These home owners liked their agent But was impress with ours and wanted to share OUR agents info. :)
I was so happy to hear that and so proud of Sonia LOL
When Sonia tells you, "It's going to be alright" Listen to her, When she tells you "this would be a great offer" Listen to her. She goes beyond the call of Duty and in my opinion, she Should be pay More for her service. She gets paid little compare to how hard she works. - Doris
